Need a getaway from Cebu City's constant whirlwind and frenzy? I recommend that you visit Tagaytay Hill, popularly referred to as Old Bucao, which is located in Barangay General Climaco in Toledo City, Cebu. In my view, Tagaytay Hill is a captivating location and one of Cebu's best-kept secrets. In my perspective, it is a must-see destination for any travel enthusiast in Cebu. I can attest to the fact that it did literally and metaphorically steal my breath away because I've been there.

Mt. Tagaytay is the perfect destination for nature lovers and adventurers. I had the chance to experience the mountain firsthand during a recent visit. I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape and the serenity of the surroundings. We arrived at Tagaytay Hill's base and stopped there for a quick break. Then, as we ascended, we passed through rich greenery and breathtaking views. Despite the moderate and steady slopes, several of us were a little uneasy because we hadn't recently been climbing mountains. We finally made it to Tagaytay Hill's summit after a short hike. Additionally, the breathtaking, peaceful views of Malubog Lake and the mountains in the area were spectacular. The natural beauty of Tagaytay Hill simply couldn't be ignored by anyone, including myself. We also enjoyed some local delicacies at one of the shops near the summit.
How to get there?
You must board a bus bound for Toledo City from the Cebu South Bus Terminal. You will reach Toledo Terminal after an hour and a half of travel. The foot of the Tagaytay hill is located in the barangay of Casoy, where you must next catch a jeepney. The trip then begins with a one-hour trek to the peak, where you will then be treated to a beautiful panorama of the surroundings.
It was a memorable event in every way. Being in the middle of nature was incredibly tranquil and comforting. I was able to absorb the beauty of the surroundings and felt so connected to it. Additionally, having my camping companions along made for an even more unforgettable experience. Everyone should put the Tagaytay Hill on their bucket list.
